National Minimum Wage guidance 2024

Legislation

National Minimum Wage guidance 2024

Date

1 April 2024

Summary

Keeping up with the National Minimum Wage (NMW) and National Living Wage (NLW) can feel like navigating a maze, especially with the recent extensions and updates. But help is at hand with guidance available on HMRC.

Already in place as of 1st April 2024, NLW isn’t just for the over-23 anymore; it has been extended to 21 and 22-year-olds too.

Beware of the pitfalls – underpayments can stem from various sources, like incorrect use of apprenticeship rates or unpaid working time such as team handovers between shifts.

Stay sharp with the HMRC checklist and webinar on navigating NMW changes, which is available now. If you’ve not already, we recommend taking a look at these – you don’t want to be caught out!
