Requirement for COVID-19 vaccinations for care home entry

Legislation

Requirement for COVID-19 vaccinations for care home entry

Date

Effective 15 March 2022

Summary

CQC registered care homes in England (for nursing and personal care) no longer need to ensure that an individual does not enter the care home premises unless they provide evidence that they have been vaccinated with a complete course of an authorised vaccine against coronavirus (Covid-19) or are exempt.

This follows the government consultation to remove mandatory vaccination as a condition of deployment condition across all health and social care in England.
